Petroleum sulfonate (WPS) is an anionic surfactant made from petroleum distillate, the main raw material, and that is then sulfonated in a falling film sulfonator by sulfur trioxide. The combination of petroleum sulfonate with alkali and polymer forms the 3-conponent oil displacement system, with ultra-low interfacial tension, that can be below 10-3 mN/m. The most recent PS products and two series of displacing agents developed by Beijing Zijingshi Fine Chemical Company Ltd were exhibited in the 14th China International Petroleum & Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition. Those products achieved ideal effects in adsorption, core displacement and numerical comparison.
The production line of annual capacity of 35,000 ton petroleum sulphonates (PS) is currently being installed in the Crude Refining Chemical Company, Daqing, Petrochina, continuing the successful test of 15,000 ton/a on 21st, July, 2013. The whole set of equipment being installed in situ was designed by Beijing Zijingshi Fine Chemical Company Ltd. Experts from Zijingshi are present to supervise the production line assembly. It is the largest domestic production line based on the most advanced gas phase-film SO3 sulphonation technique.
The SLES homogenization vessel designed by ZJS uses ellipsoid head in past which solve the problem of product remaining at corner. But the cost is high and useless room is large. In the latest optimized design, ZJS uses plate cover with curve edge, which also solves the problem of product remaining at corner and reduces the cost of head. The mixer uses curved surface type of variable cross-section and variable angular which has advantages of high homogenization effect, no air brought in and low energy consumption.
The design work by ZJS for Guangzhou Lonkey’s 3MT/hr Sulphonation Plant relocation project is nearly finished. Part of this project uses current equipment, other part will use new equipment. The final products are LABSA, SLES (low 1,4-dioxane content).
The turn-key project of 2MT/hr LABSA Plant was finished in 2009 which was designed, fabricated and erected by ZJS. The quality of product is at the best level in the world. Now, the plant is enlarged to 3MT/hr and expanded with SLES production. The equipment have been delivered, and our erection persons will go to UAE for the erection & commissioning at September, 2012.
In July of 2012, the 3.8MT/hr HABS Plant designed by ZJS for Henan Hengju Chemical Co., Ltd is in erection. The whole plant is designed, fabricated and erected by ZJS; the product will be mainly exported and used in tertiary oil recovery.
